Unexpectedly, women happily celebrated Varalakshmi Puja today at their residences. It is a great pleasure to see women participating in such a large number of places. The Maha Lakshmi temples in various parts of Andhra Pradesh were packed in the morning.
Mainly small traders and flower farmers made special sales. On the occasion of Shravan month, women across Andhra Pradesh performed Varalakshmi Vratham and pujas with devotion on Friday.
Married women performed special pujas wishing for happiness, wealth, health and long life of their husbands in the family. Many almanacs and news sources have stated that Varalakshmi Vratham will be held in Andhra Pradesh on August 21 in 2026.
Women cleaned their houses in the morning, put up rangavallas, and decorated the puja mandapalas with mango leaves, flowers, turmeric, and saffron.
A kalash was placed on rice, water, coins, turmeric, and vakka were placed in it, and mango leaves and coconut were decorated on top. Later, Ganapati Puja was performed and Shodashopachara Puja, Ashtottar Shatanamavali, and Aarti were performed for Goddess Varalakshmi.
Collective Varalakshmi Vratas were performed in temples, women’s groups, and apartment complexes in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Guntur, Nellore, Kurnool, Rajamahendravaram, and other areas. In some temples, arrangements were made to have a special darshan of the Goddess in Varalakshmi attire.
After the puja, the women shared turmeric threads, tambulas, fruits, and prasadam with each other. Offerings like Pulihora, sugar pongali, vadalu, and payasam were offered. Devotees believe that the blessings of the eight goddesses will be obtained through Varalakshmi Vratham.
With the rush of devotees at the temples, the organizers made special queues, drinking water, distribution of prasad, and security arrangements.
The purchase of flowers, puja equipment, turmeric-sukhumvit, and sarees increased during the festival. Varalakshmi Vratham was observed with devotion across Andhra Pradesh.
Devotees prayed for the blessings of the Goddess to spread wealth, health, and happiness in every home. Due to this development, during the coalition rule under the leadership of Chandrababu in the state, the people, especially women, freely and enthusiastically organized this Lakshmi Puja with such enthusiasm and enthusiasm.
