The search operations undertaken by the Indian Coast Guard to trace the missing fishermen are continuing, said State Minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu.
The minister revealed that the relevant officials spoke to Coast Guard Assistant Commanding Officer Ranjit Kumar and learned about the progress of the search operation. Coast Guard officials said that currently 5 ships, two Dornier aircraft and a helicopter are being extensively searched in the sea.
He said that the information regarding the fishermen’s boat has also been shared with the Coast Guard officials in Myanmar, Port Blair and the Bangladesh border areas. He said that they have been advised to be vigilant in those areas to find the boat.
The Minister clarified that although the boat has not been found at present, there will be no break in the search operation. Coast Guard officials revealed that the officer who will take charge after the 24th of this month will also continue the search operations.
He said that the government is continuously coordinating with the Coast Guard and the Navy to bring the fishermen safely. Minister Atchannaidu assured the family members not to worry and to be brave and that the search will continue in all possible ways until the boat is found.
