The importance of the House of Elders and its responsibilities should be known and acted upon in the House. Varla Ramaiah suggested to Jagan Mohan Reddy and his party MLCs to read Articles 169 and 171 of the Constitution. Regarding their behaviour in the adults house.

While the Legislative Council, respectfully called the House of Elders, should be discussing, reviewing and suggesting bills on the development of the state and good governance for the people, he said that it is not right for the opposition parties (YSRCP) to disrupt the proceedings of the House with slogans, shouting, placards and chaos.

While selecting members for the House of Elders, Ramaiah suggested that not only their age but also their behavior, speech, style of conduct, manner of respecting the House, and the culture of respecting others should be taken into account without taking age into account.

He questioned how much it is reasonable to behave like children and a rabble in a responsible House of Elders. Ramaiah said that his first day’s experience was completely different from the Legislative Council he had imagined.

In India, everyone should act according to the constitution. According to Article 169, the Legislative Council is a review body that examines bills in depth, holds a comprehensive discussion and suggests appropriate changes.
