Admissions under the Right to Education Act have increased significantly. Student admissions are being conducted through a transparent online process – Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh in the Legislative Council

Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh said that the admission of students in private unaided schools under the Right to Education Act has increased during the tenure of the government.
The Minister was replying to a question asked by Legislative Council members Kavali Greeshma, Bhumireddy Ramgopal Reddy and Perabathula Rajasekhar on the number of students admitted to private schools under the Right to Education Act (RTE).
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that 1,04,046 students have been admitted to private unaided schools under the Right to Education Act from 2022-23 to 2026-27. Admissions under Section 12(1)(c) have been taken up through a transparent online process. The government has taken several steps to effectively implement Section 12(1)(c).
After the People’s Government came to power, the admissions of students under the Right to Education Act increased. In the year 2022-23, only 2,203 students got admissions in private unaided schools under the Right to Education Act.
While about 29 thousand students got admissions in 2024-25, the first year after the People’s Government came to power, 28,742 students got admissions under the Right to Education Act in the year 2026-27.
