Many temples in rural areas across the state lack proper road facilities. The issue of the number of devotees visiting shrines like Vadapalli is increasing day by day, but the road facilities are not improving to meet their needs and has come to the notice of Deputy Chief Minister Shri Pawan Kalyan.
He came across many such temples during his field visits. People submitted petitions to Shri Pawan Kalyan regarding the plight of some temples.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Pawan Kalyan has resolved to remove the problems faced by devotees due to the lack of roads to visit God within the scope of the Panchayat Raj Department.
The process of connecting more than 100 major temples with roads covering a length of 205 kilometers has been initiated through the Panchayat Raj Department. The construction of roads to schools, temples, hospitals and fields is being carried forward with funds from the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, VBJ Ramji, SASKI etc., giving top priority to it. On the occasion of the centenary celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, Rs. 30 crores have been allocated for the construction of Puttaparthi connecting roads in that district.
Sri Pawan Kalyan has been making suggestions from time to time to complete the temple path work undertaken by the government with special attention.
So far, 26 of these roads, which are being constructed at a cost of Rs. 120 crores, have been completed and are ready to be started.
The work related to another 40 percent of the roads has been completed by 50 percent. Among them, the famous Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Kshetram Antarvedi, Ahobilam, Sri Gattu Venkataramana Swamy Temple in Madanapalle constituency, the remote temples of Devaraya Nallagangamma Temple, the Pudiyagiri Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Kshetram Ghat Road near Marripudi, the Singirikona, Someswaram Kalupullammala Road in Satyavedu constituency, and I.S. Jagannathpuram Ghat Road have been completed.
The authorities are making arrangements to inaugurate these roads and make them accessible to the public through Pawan Kalyan. The Konaseema Tirumala Vadapalle Karakatta Road, which was undertaken with SASK funds, was constructed at a cost of Rs. The works of the roads undertaken in Tenali, Rayachoti and other constituencies, Anjaneyaswamy Road in Nidadavol, Malleswaraswamy Temple in Thotavaripalli, Puthalapattu constituency and other roads are in various stages of progress.
The works of about 72 kilometers of roads allocated to Sri Sathya Sai district are also in various stages. Pawan Kalyan directed the officials to pay attention to the quality standards of the roads leading to the holy places.
He suggested that the roads constructed by the Panchayat Raj Department should be of use to the devotees for a long time. He informed the officials that he would personally inspect the quality of the roads of the temples that have been completed during field visits and make them available to the devotees.
Plans are being made under the leadership of Pawan Kalyan to provide road facilities to more temples under the auspices of the Panchayat Raj Department.
