Ronanki Kurmanath, Managing Director of the Disaster Management Agency, said that there is a possibility of heavy rains in the next four days due to the low pressure in the Bay of Bengal.
He said that there is a possibility of moving westwards towards Tamil Nadu/Sri Lanka coasts in the next two days. On the other hand, the trough is extending from North Andhra to West-Central Bay of Bengal over Southwest Bay of Bengal.
Due to this effect, moderate to heavy rains are expected in some parts of Rayalaseema and Dakshina Coast districts on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (12, 13, 14) and light rains at other places.
In the wake of rains, people should be alert and farmers should take proper precautions in paddy cutting and other agricultural work, the Meteorological Department said.
Tuesday: Moderate to heavy rain is expected at some parts of Paschimagodavari, Eluru, Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Bapatla, Palnadu, Prakasam, Nellore, Nandyala, YSR, Annamaiya, Chittoor and Tirupati districts.
Some parts of Kurnool, Anantapur and Sri Sathyasai districts are likely to receive light rain. Wednesday : Moderate to heavy rain is likely at some parts of Alluri Sitaramaraj, Konaseema, West Godavari, Krishna, Bapatla, Palnadu, Nellore, Kurnool and Nandyala districts.
Some parts of Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, Kakinada, East Godavari, Eluru, NTR, Guntur, Bapatla, Prakasam, Anantapur, Sri Sathyasai, YSR, Annamaiah, Chittoor and Tirupati districts are likely to experience light rain. Weather department officials have warned the farmers to take proper precautions especially during harvesting.
