Rajamundry BJP MP Daggubati Purandhareshwari said that the ‘Temple Essentials Rajamahendravaram’ project has been undertaken with the idea of making perfumes, incense sticks and other aromatic products from the flower waste obtained from the temples in and around Rajamahendravaram, so that women can get special employment from them.
She said that this program will help in developing women as entrepreneurs in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of moving beyond women empowerment and towards ‘women-led development’.
The MP was the chief guest at the third day of the five-day ‘Temple Essentials Entrepreneurship Development Programme’, a training programme organized by ALEAP, the district administration, with technical support from the Fragrance and Flavor Development Centre (FFDC), Kannauj, and the Union Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, at the GNR Kalyana Convention Hall in Kadiyam on Thursday.
On this occasion, the MP, Collector, MLA and other dignitaries inspected various products made by 35 women from self-help groups undergoing training.
The MP said that the central government has increased the loan limit for women self-help groups from Rs. 2 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh, which was earlier. She said that these measures are useful towards making women ‘Lakhpati Didi. She explained that the central government is providing a subsidy of up to Rs. 8 lakh on a drone worth Rs. 10 lakh through the ‘Drone Didi’ program to provide modern technology to women in the agricultural sector.
She said that practical training is being provided to women with international standards through FFDC experts from Kannauj. , She said that necessary support will be provided until the women set up their own industries. She said that steps will be taken to provide training centers, space for setting up machines, bank loans and marketing facilities.

District Collector Kirti Chekuri said that the goal of the program is to provide sustainable livelihood to women by utilizing local resources. She said that activities will be designed to provide a large market opportunity to women’s groups keeping the Godavari Pushkarams in mind.
Women can become entrepreneurs by adding value to locally available raw materials like flowers, coconut, bananas and other products. Rajahmundry Rural TDP MLA G. Butchaiah Chowdhury clarified that a women’s industrial park is being set up in 20 acres in the rural area to encourage women entrepreneurs and that women will also be given priority in the MSME park near the collectorate.
