Rajya Sabha members Lingamaneni Ramesh and Kakinada MP Tangella Uday Srinivas submitted a memorandum to Union Human Resource Development Minister Prahlad Joshi, seeking the establishment of Navodaya Vidyalayas in every district of the state of Andhra Pradesh. The MPs met Prahlad Joshi in Delhi on Tuesday.

They appealed to sanction JNVs in all districts, including the newly formed districts. They asked that admissions and education be started in phases from the 2027-28 academic year. They explained that due to the reorganization of districts, talented rural students are being deprived of quality education in areas where there are no Navodaya Vidyalayas.

The MPs said that Education Minister Nara Lokesh has already sent proposals to the Center on the establishment of Navodaya schools. Hon’ble Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan explained that the establishment of Navodaya Vidyalayas in all districts of the state will pave the way for providing better education to rural students.

He explained to the Union Minister that the AP government is ready to provide free land, temporary buildings and infrastructure as per the rules of the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.

He requested that a joint review meeting be held with the Central Education Department, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, the AP government and MPs.

He said that if a joint review is held during the current monsoon session of the Parliament, there is a possibility of taking a decision quickly. He said that the establishment of Navodaya Schools in every district will help in achieving the goals of ‘NEP-2020’ and ‘Vikasit Bharat 2047’.
