Visakha Steel Plant is not just an industry, but a key institution linked to the economic development of Uttarandhra and the livelihood of thousands of families, said AP TDP Chief and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivas Rao.

This morning, Palla Srinivas Rao participated in a key review meeting at the Visakha Steel Plant Administrative Building along with MP Sribharat and Plant CMD M.N.V.S. Prabhakar in a discussion on the development of the steel plant.

The coalition government’s goal is to further strengthen the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, which is currently on the path of profit, and to lead it on a development path with full capacity.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is dedicated to the development of the steel plant and is holding talks with the central government. He said that the allocation of Rs. 14 thousand crores for the renovation of the plant after the coalition government came to power and the return of plant operations to normalcy is a good development.

He clarified that there is no need to worry about the future of the plant. He said that he had discussed production, financial conditions, labor problems, and displaced people in detail with the CMD. He called on the officers and workers to cooperate with the measures being taken by the management.

Palla said that it was proposed in the meeting to give first priority in recruitment to the nearly 8 thousand R-card displaced people who were given lands for the construction of the plant and to do justice.

The CMD said that the issue of blocking of workers’ Aadhaar cards due to some reasons during the strike was brought to the notice of the CMD and that it was willing to unblock them immediately.

Palla revealed that the issues of land disputes within the R&B Road area and allocation of alternative lands to farmers as per court orders were discussed in the meeting.

Palla Srinivas Rao said that the government and the management are working together to overcome the financial burden on the plant, increase production capacity and make it a stronger institution in the future.
