State Finance, Commerce and Legislative Affairs Minister Payyavula Keshav has made it clear to the employee unions that the state government is making every effort to resolve various issues related to state government employees as much as possible.
A team of ministers led by him met with representatives of 21 employee unions at the AP Secretariat on Wednesday and discussed the problems of the employees for about 5 hours. After the meeting, the Finance Minister said that they have learned all the problems from the 21 employee unions and have compiled all of them and brought them to the attention of the Chief Minister and assured that they will work to resolve the problems as soon as possible.
He said that the demands for the establishment of a wage revision commission, IR announcement, pending DAs and other pending bills to be paid on time have come from all the employee unions and efforts will be made to resolve them positively.
He said that the state will move forward on the path of development in all aspects only if the employees and public representatives are not separate and work together.
Minister Payyavula said that the government is not considering the expenditure on employees as a burden but is considering it as an investment. He said that the government has already changed the contributory pension scheme to the old pension scheme with a positive attitude towards employees. Similarly, he said that the retirement age for employees working in various public sector organizations has also been increased from 60 to 62 years.
Speaking at the meeting, Chief Secretary to the Government G. Sai Prasad said that issues related to employees can be resolved through as many discussions as possible. He said that all the issues raised by various employee unions will be examined and steps will be taken to resolve them as much as possible at the government level.
Special Chief Secretary, State Services and HRM Department, S.S. Rawat first welcomed the meeting and explained various pending issues related to the employees and then inquired about the pending issues and problems from the representatives of the employee unions.
The meeting was attended by ministers, officers of various departments and leaders of various employee unions.
