TTD Additional EO C.H. Venkaiah Chowdhury has advised the officials to give top priority to the safety of devotees on the Alipiri walking path and to work in coordination with all the departments to effectively control the movement of wildlife. He held a review with the TTD and Forest Department officials.
He suggested that a comprehensive data analysis be undertaken on recent wildlife incidents and their trends and a permanent plan be formulated to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future. It was suggested that the migration routes and movement patterns of wildlife in the surrounding areas of Tirumala be scientifically studied, and appropriate preventive measures be taken to identify areas that pose a danger to devotees.
The number and conditions of wildlife in the Tirumala forest area should be assessed from time to time and necessary control measures should be taken.
The authorities should conduct a comprehensive study on the impact of the operation of shops on the Alipiri walkway on the movement of wildlife and the safety of devotees and, if necessary, take appropriate control measures.
It was suggested that waste management in the forest should be further strengthened and strict measures should be taken to ensure that wildlife is not attracted to the walkway due to food waste or other garbage. It was suggested that security and protection measures should be further strengthened in sensitive areas and all necessary facilities should be provided for the safety of devotees.
It was suggested that coordination between TTD, Forest Department, Vigilance, Engineering, Health Departments and all relevant departments should be further improved to continuously monitor the movement of wildlife and take measures for effective monitoring, exchange of information and rapid response in emergency situations.
The Additional EO, who ordered the formation of a special emergency response team at the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, suggested that the team should be provided with the necessary personnel, modern equipment, vehicles, communication systems, and technology, and a permanent system should be set up to respond immediately to wildlife incidents.
Chief Conservator of Forests Srinivasa Reddy, DFO Sri Sai Baba, TTD Chief Engineer Sri Satyanarayana, Deputy EO of Health Department Sri Somannarayana, Tirumala Vigilance Officer Sri Surendra and other officials participated in this meeting.
