Using devotion to God for political purposes, spreading false propaganda about temples, and trying to damage the faith of crores of devotees is extremely irresponsible, State Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy has strongly condemned.

He made it clear that the state government will not tolerate any conspiracies that damage the sentiments of devotees. He said that creating doubts about Hindu religious institutions, creating misconceptions among devotees, and trying to mislead the people with baseless stories with political motives is extremely unfortunate.

He said that the government is working with full commitment towards the protection of Dharma, comprehensive development of temples, providing best services to devotees, and further strengthening transparent governance. The minister said that the government is always ready to discuss facts, complete statistics and transparent information and appealed to the people not to believe false propaganda.

The minister made it clear that temples are symbols of faith of crores of devotees and people will never accept attempts to turn them into platforms for political experiments.

The minister said that the coalition government is working with the development of temples, preservation of Dharma and provision of better services to devotees as its top priority.

He said that many reforms have been undertaken such as restoration of historical temples, transparent administration, expansion of infrastructure, digital services and expansion of Anna Prasad programs. He said that it is sad that some people are deliberately spreading false propaganda to cover up this development.

The minister asked the people why they were silent during the attacks on temples, destruction of idols and burning of chariots that took place across the state during the previous regime.

The Minister clarified that the aim of the Endowment Department is not to generate income, but to protect Dharma, develop temples and provide quality services to devotees. He said that devotees are seen as guardians of Dharma, not as those who fill hundi.

The Minister revealed that the total income of the 22 main temples in the state was Rs. 1,379.19 crore in 2023-24, which has reached Rs. 1,503.90 crore by 2025-26. He said that a total additional income of Rs. 124.71 crore has been recorded, a growth of about 9 percent.

The Minister said that Annaprasadam is currently being distributed in 111 temples in the state. He said that Annadanam is being provided to about 80 thousand people every day, 24 lakh people per month, and about 3 crore devotees per year. He revealed that the government is spending Rs. 84 crore every year for this and that these services will soon be extended to 59 more temples.

He said that work is underway for the development of 276 temples with an expenditure of Rs. 87.03 crores keeping in mind the 2027 Godavari Pushkaram. He also revealed that the government has launched a grand program to establish a temple or Bhajan Mandir in every village in the state with the help of TTD at a cost of Rs. 750 crores.

Advisor of the State Endowments and Charities Department Seetharamanjaneya Prasad and Commissioner Ramachandra Mohan participated in this meeting.
