Tadepalligudem MLA and Government Whip Bolisetti Srinivas said that instead of revealing facts fearlessly through the media, siding one party or other for personal gains is not genuine journalism.
Attending the Andhra Pradesh Journalists Union for Print and Electronic Media (APJU) state council meeting held in Tadepalligudem as the chief guest, he said that they are distorting the news as per their whims and this does not seem like journalism. He questioned the fact that media organizations controlled by parties are suppressing facts and ignoring real news.
He said that the coalition government is always ready for the welfare of journalists, but journalists should bring their problems to the attention of the government in a proper manner for a solution.
The MLA said that if he himself makes a selection in the allotment of house plots to Tadepalligudem journalists,
there are chances of criticism. He said that it is reasonable to give a list of those who are eligible as per the government rules and he will make efforts to get the plots sanctioned to them.
It is not right for the management of some media houses to ask their journalists to bring advertisements and take commission on them without paying salaries as per the rules, He said
The meeting was presided over by All India Newspaper Employees Federation, New Delhi and APJU General Secretary Ch. Poorna Chandra Rao.
He said that it has come to his notice that the media accreditations issued by the coalition government for the year 2026-2027 were not given to the eligible ones, but instead, accreditations were issued to some ineligible ones.
He requested that such cases be reviewed and accreditations be issued to the eligible ones at the earliest. He said that it is known that more than 1500 senior journalist cards have been issued, but he appealed to examine whether there are as many senior journalists who have completed 20 years of service or not.
APJU Executive Secretary Bandi Nagaraju explained the problems faced by journalists in the united West Godavari district. APJU Founder Honorary President Dr. P.S. Rao said that APJU has been working very sincerely on the problems of journalists in the united state and even after bifurcation for the last 35 years.

Later, a resolution was unanimously passed in the meeting demanding allotment of housing plots and issuance of accreditations to all eligible journalists in the state. The assembly unanimously approved the holding of the 36th anniversary celebrations of APJU on Sunday, November 15, in Tirupati to elect a new state committee.
