The Irrigation Department has taken a serious view on the officials who neglected to register the bills of the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) works undertaken by the water associations in the state, in addition to properly managing the irrigation system. In this context, the Irrigation Department has issued orders by issuing a memo to Godavari Delta Chief Engineer (CE) Chinababu.
Senior officials of the Irrigation Department have expressed their deep dissatisfaction over the non-uploading of bills related to the works worth Rs. 256.75 crore sanctioned in 2025. They have been ordered to explain the negligence in registering the bills related to the O&M works of the water associations and monitoring the maintenance of records.
Special Chief Secretary, Irrigation Department, ENC Narasimha Murthy issued a memo for negligence in complying with the orders issued by the Engineer-in-Chief (ENC). He made it clear that they should act responsibly in the performance of their duties and that negligence in implementing the government orders will not be tolerated.
