Even in situations where there is no possibility of implementing reservations legally, the state TDP chief Palla Srinivas Rao has clearly stated that the party will allocate more than 34 percent tickets and provide appropriate representation to BCs.
The Telugu Desam Party is sincerely committed to providing 34 percent reservation to BCs. Despite the legal obstacles to the implementation of reservations with the latest decision of the Supreme Court, there is no point in taking a step back in providing political justice to BCs.
In providing political opportunities to BCs, during the NTR regime, 20 percent reservation was first provided to BCs in local bodies in 1987, and in 1995, the credit went to the TDP.
He said that the party has continuously worked to ensure that BCs are not just seen as voters, but as public representatives and in leadership positions.
He said that the welfare and empowerment of BCs continues to be a priority under Chandrababu’s leadership. He made it clear that BCs will be given due priority in the selection of candidates in the upcoming local body elections and that they will stand by their political development.
Srinivas accused the opposition parties of being lazy with the malicious intention of not allowing BCs to grow politically.
He criticized that the YSRCP has failed to provide them with strong political representation, except for making announcements in the name of BCs’ welfare and getting their votes during the elections.

Srinivasa Rao clarified that they will provide adequate opportunities to BC leaders and activists in the local elections and give priority to their political empowerment.
