Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu stepped into the role of a teacher at the fourth parent-teacher meeting held at the Government Upper Primary School in Rampachodavaram in Polavaram district, Andhra Pradesh today.
As part of this, the Chief Minister interacted with the students, parents and teachers in the classroom and personally reviewed the progress report cards of the students. Emphasizing that parental involvement in education should be increased further, he explained the academic performance, attendance and health details of the students directly to the parents.
While interacting with the Chief Minister, several tribal mothers said that the state government’s ‘Talliki Vandanam’ scheme has reduced their burden by providing financial assistance to each child, which has made them more confident in continuing their children’s education.
On the arrival of the Chief Minister and the Education Minister, tribal women gave them a traditional welcome. Before participating in the programme, they paid floral tributes to the statue of freedom fighter Alluri Seetharama Raju and offered prayers to Goddess Saraswati.
The tribal mothers said they have noticed tangible improvements in government schools, such as better infrastructure, increased teaching standards, and clean and nutritious mid-day meals. According to them, these changes have encouraged parents to send their children to government schools with renewed confidence.
The women also highlighted the benefits of the Stree Shakti free bus travel scheme.
Education Minister Nara Lokesh informed the Chief Minister that in view of the financial difficulties of Anganwadi workers, the government has extended the Matalki Vandanam scheme to eligible persons.
The Chief Minister congratulated the students who are growing saplings in the school premises. Officials explained that each sapling will have a QR code tag, which can be scanned by anyone to get information about the tree.
Green passports were also issued to the students to promote environmental conservation. Calling upon students to play an active role in increasing greenery in Andhra Pradesh, the Chief Minister asked them to continue protecting and growing the plants they have adopted. Earlier, tribal women traditionally welcomed the Chief Minister and the Education Minister on their arrival.
