The Tourism Department has taken a historic step to make Andhra Pradesh the first Artificial Intelligence-based tourism state in the country, said State Tourism, Culture and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh.

The AP Tourism Authority (APTA) has signed a three-year strategic agreement to use the ‘NiVU AI’ (NiVU AI- Neural Intelligence Vernacular Unified Model) platform developed by leading travel company ‘Explurger’.

Minister Kandula Durgesh signed the relevant MoU in the presence of Special Chief Secretary, Tourism and Culture Department Ajay Jain, APTA MD Amrapali Kata, APTA CEO AAL Padmavati and other senior officials.

Minister Durgesh said that through this key agreement, multilingual AI will be provided to tourists in more than 100 popular tourist and pilgrimage sites in the state. He said that if the performance is good, there is a possibility of extending the time frame.

He clarified that it will be available in 30 major areas in the first year and will be fully available in three years. Minister Durgesh explained that this will not cost tourists anything, it is completely free and there is no need to download any special apps.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Kandula Durgesh explained that under this agreement, tourists will be able to interact directly with ‘Nivu AI’ by scanning the QR code installed at forts, beaches, historical monuments and temples in the state in the next three years.

Tourists can learn about the history, culture and importance of the respective places in more than 130 languages in the form of voice or text. Before expanding this project across the state, a pilot project was successfully conducted in the famous shrines of Mangalagiri Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple and Sri Panakala Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple. Hundreds of devotees are using this AI service every day and have given an excellent response by knowing the uniqueness of the temple and the worship methods in the languages of their choice.

Minister Durgesh described this as a key milestone in the achievement of the goal of ‘Swarnandhra Vision-2047’ under the leadership of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.

Minister Durgesh clarified that this is a wonderful technology that explains our culture and heritage to everyone from local Telugu devotees to international tourists in their own language, and that he himself has tested this ‘Nivu AI’ in Telugu, and it is giving answers with great accuracy and respect.

Special Chief Secretary, Tourism Department Ajay Jain said that through this technology, Andhra Pradesh tourism will not only break new ground but will also become a role model for other states and countries. He said that AI technology is understandable for the common man and the tourist as well.

APTA CEO Padmavati said.. “This partnership brings together two wonderful sectors, one of which is the depth of Andhra Pradesh’s heritage and the second is world-class Indian technology.

Jitin Bhatia, Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Explorer, said that it is an honor to partner with the Andhra Pradesh government.

He clarified that Andhra Pradesh is going to be the first state not only in India but also in the world to speak to every major tourist destination, in every language, with every visitor. He said that there are currently more than 22 million users in 75 countries and Prime Minister Narendra Modi chose them to showcase their platform during the G20.
