YSRCP chief and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy met Andhra Pradesh State Election Commissioner Anil Chandra Puneta in Vijayawada today.

He alleged that irregularities and violence took place in the nomination process of the municipal elections. Jagan demanded that all candidates be allowed to file nominations freely and that strong security measures be taken.

Stating that YSRCP candidates are being obstructed, threatened, attacked, and in some cases prevented from filing nomination papers, Jagan urged the SEC to provide that opportunity to every candidate who wants to file nominations after submitting complaints with evidence and with police security where necessary.

He alleged that nomination papers are being torn and that the officials and police are not acting impartially.

Jagan said he will also meet the Governor to seek the intervention of the Centre to deploy central/paramilitary forces for local body elections.

Live CCTV surveillance inside and outside polling stations, strong rooms, counting centres. Strict checking of Form 17C under CCTV surveillance to avoid allegations of forgery or tampering

The SEC has assured that anyone who wants to file a nomination will be given an opportunity, Jagan clarified that the YSRCP will also meet the Governor to press for central forces.
