In order to stop the smuggling of free rice which the central and state governments are sending together for the poor people, the government needs the full cooperation of the people to completely end the ration mafia in the AP  state.

AP civil supplies minister Manohar, said that the intention is to provide good nutritious food to the 1 crore 48 lakh ration card holders in the state.  Such is that central and state governments are providing free rice with the idea of ​ ​ supporting every poor familyes in the State.

Minister Nadendla Manohar has called upon the people to become partners and prevent the smuggling of rice by not smuggling the rice from the poor people (PDS) who are caught in the clutches of the ration mafia.

State Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Nadendla Manohar announced in the Legislative Council today.

The minister announced that the state government will keep a close watch on this mafia and purge them thoroughly.  The Minister said that 1010 cases have been registered and 60 thousand metric tons of rice has been seized by keeping a watch on this mafia in recent times.

The MDU operator is involved in the smuggling of this PDS rice.  It is stated that criminal cases have been registered against 13 rice mills mainly in Kakinada.

He said that special check posts have been set up to prevent the rice from being exported to other countries.  As part of cleaning up the smuggling of PDS rice, under the direction of the district joint collector, the police, revenue and civil supply officers together will allow the export of rice in the port only if there is an NOC certificate.

Inspections are being done on rice mills across the state.  Similarly, the officials should be vigilant against illegal transportation in every district. Minister Nadendla Manohar explained in the Legislative Council that due to the involvement of some MDU operators in the illegal diversion of PDS rice, regarding  one operator was terminated
