Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) sets new record in cargo handling

Visakhapatnam Port Authority on 13 October 2026 achieved a significant milestone in cargo handling by crossing the 50 MMT mark in a record 196 days.
The port handled a total of 50,007,081 tonnes of cargo in the financial year 2026–27. This feat represents an improvement of 17 and 28 days over the previous records achieved in 213 days (30 October 2025) in the financial year 2025–26 and 224 days (10 November 2024) in the financial year 2024–25, respectively.
J.S.(VPA) Chairperson, Bindra, Deputy Chairperson, Smt. Roshni Aparanji Korati, congratulated the Traffic Department for this remarkable achievement and asked them to continue their dedicated efforts towards achieving the cargo-handling target of 100 MMT for the financial year 2026-27.
