Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu clarified that the Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme has become a boon for the farmers of the state and it is a living testimony to the foresight and immense experience of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
Minister Nimmala spoke at a media conference organized at the Amaravati Secretariat along with the presidents of irrigation associations and project committee chairmen. He explained that since 2015, about Rs. 50 thousand crores of wealth has been created by diverting 500 TMC of Godavari flood waters to the Krishna Delta.
He said that the Pattiseema project, which was undertaken at a cost of Rs. 1,600 crores, has created a wealth of Rs. 50,000 crores in the state today, and it is an engineering marvel that has achieved amazing results with low investment.
He said that even in the current ‘Super El Nino’ disaster situation, which is waiting for a drop of rain, 57 TMC of water has been diverted from Godavari, saving about 7 lakh acres of land in the Krishna Delta and meeting the drinking water needs of 30 lakh people.
He said that since the needs of the Krishna Delta were met through Pattiseema, the delta did not need to take a single drop of water from the Srisailam reservoir. Due to this, the remaining Krishna waters could be completely diverted to Rayalaseema projects and drinking water needs, and he clarified that Pattiseema is directly protecting the Krishna Delta and indirectly protecting Rayalaseema.
He clarified that this state does not need the ‘axe culture’ that promotes violence and hatred, and that the policies of the coalition government, which is turning the plough into a weapon and making the state fertile, are the protection of Sri Rama for the people.
He praised Chandrababu Naidu for diverting the flood waters of Godavari from the sea before the completion of Polavaram.

The meeting was attended by Alla Venkata Gopalakrishna Rao, State President of the Federation of Irrigation Water Users’ Associations, D. Venkateswara Rao, Chairman of the Krishna East Delta Project Committee, M. Muralidhar Rao, Chairman of the Krishna West Delta Project Committee, M. Bhogeswara Rao, Tummala Jagadish, Kommareddy Rajesh and others.
