Among the decisions taken in the state cabinet meeting – A boost to huge investments in the state – Rs. 22,177 crore investment, 19,739 jobs created

The state cabinet meeting approved investment proposals in various sectors as per the recommendations of the 21st State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB). These projects, which will provide employment opportunities to 19,739 people and a total investment of Rs. 22,177.84 crore, will be implemented in various parts of the state.

State Information, Public Relations and Housing Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy explained to the media the decisions taken on various issues in the 1394th (57th) cabinet meeting held at the State Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

Projects worth Rs. 8,000 crore and 3,000 jobs have been approved in the infrastructure-investment sector. In this, a key approval was given for setting up a shipyard under the auspices of the Ministry of Defence, Goa Shipyard Limited. This will strengthen the state’s maritime infrastructure and shipbuilding capabilities.

Projects worth Rs. 5,176.56 crore and 2,240 jobs have been approved in the energy sector. These include a 675 MW solar project in Sri Sathya Sai district, solar-wind hybrid projects in YSR Kadapa and Kurnool districts, and a compressed biogas project in Nandyal district. These will increase the state’s renewable energy capacity.

In the industry-commerce sector, Rs. 4,332.49 crore and 4,885 jobs have been approved. My Home Industries’ Rs. 3,000 crore greenfield project in Palnadu district, MAF Clothing project in Kuppam, and Fortune 500 company Caterpillar will enter the state with an initial investment of Rs. 100 crore. Expansion proposals of Agarwal Foundries, Dalmia Cement and other companies have also been approved.

Projects worth Rs. 3,734.18 crore, creating 2,113 jobs in the food processing sector, Rs. 526.25 crore, creating 5,736 jobs in the IT-electronics sector have been approved. Deloitte IT/ITES Campus in Visakhapatnam, Muthoot Fincorp AI-Tech Training Centre and quantum technology projects in Amaravati have been approved.

Hospitality projects worth Rs. 408.26 crore, creating 1,765 jobs in the tourism sector have been approved. The state’s tourism infrastructure will be further expanded with the establishment of new hotels and resorts in Tirupati, Amaravati and Kadapa. Overall, these investments will give a boost to industrial development, employment generation, technological innovation, renewable energy and regional balanced development.
