Human Resource Development, Education, IT, Electronics and Communication Minister Nara Lokesh unveiled the poster of Swachhtaan, which will be organized on a large scale in Vijayawada on October 2 under the auspices of Swachh Andhra Corporation.
The minister also launched the AmaravatiRunners.com portal for participants to register their names in the Swachhta Run. Swachh Andhra Corporation Chairman Kommareddy Pattabhiram, AmaravatiRunners President Ramesh Ravi, who organized the event, and their team members participated in the program.
The Swachhta Run will begin at 5 am that day at the Indira Gandhi Municipal International Stadium in Vijayawada. This run will be organized by ‘Amaravati Runners’ in three categories of 5K, 10K, 21.1K (Off Marathon). Boys, girls, youth … all age groups will be given the opportunity to participate. T-shirts and breakfast will also be arranged for the participants.
The winners in all categories will be given prizes worth about Rs. 10 lakhs, along with medals and certificates. All the participants will be given participation certificates. Participants in this run should register their names online by the 20th of this month.
About 10 thousand people from different parts of the state and the country are expected to participate in the Swachhta Run. In particular, students and youth will be encouraged to develop physical endurance, create awareness about healthy lifestyle, hygiene, and participate in social programs. Organizing such a run in Vijayawada itself is considered a good opportunity for students and youth.
