Rajamhandravaram TDP city MLA Adireddy Srinivas said that special measures are being taken to address the flooding problem at the Hi-Tech Bus Stand and Kambala Cheruvu junctions.
He said that work is being done at a cost of Rs. 25 crore to increase the capacity of the main drain from Kambala Cheruvu junction to the Nalla channel. He also revealed that another drain will be set up at a cost of Rs. 2.26 crore to move rainwater from the Nalla channel into the Godavari quickly.
He said that the goal is to provide a permanent solution to the flooding problem that has been in the city for decades, not with temporary measures, but with a comprehensive plan and proper design.

That the city’s infrastructure is getting a big boost with the receipt of huge funds for Rajamahendravaram. Keeping in mind the upcoming Godavari Pushkaras, MLC Somuveeraju said that there is a plan to take up work with more funds for the development of roads, electricity, temples and Pushkara Ghats in the city. The work being done with HAM funds is completed, the city’s infrastructure will improve further. Veeraju added.
